March 2011...

  • Friday, March 4th
  • World Day of Prayer - 4PM
The Eggertsville/Snyder World Day of Prayer ecumenical worship service will take place on Friday, March 4, at 1 p.m. in St. Benedict's Roman Catholic Church, 1317 Eggert Road (corner of Main Street). Jane Sorensen and Shelley Coppola will participate. A fellowship gathering and refreshments will follow at the church. World Day of Prayer is a worldwide ecumenical movement begun by Christian women of many traditions who come together each year to observe a common day of prayer on the first Friday in March. Each year a different country serves as the writer of the worship service. This year the women of Chile lead us to question the theme “How many loaves have you?” through biblical resources, music and their unique culture. Services will begin at sunrise in the Pacific region and continue across the globe as the day progresses, affirming that prayer and action are inseparable and both have immeasurable influence in the world. All are welcome, so come and see what it’s all about!

  • Wednesday, March 9th
  • Ash Wednesday - 7PM
The holy season of Lent begins this Wednesday, March 9. Please plan to be in church for a meaningful Ash Wednesday worship service starting at 7 p.m. The service, suitable for all ages, includes a brief meditation on repentance and forgiveness, and, for those who wish it, imposition of ashes on the forehead or hand as a sign of spiritual commitment.

  • Sunday, March 13th
  • End-of-Life Series - 11AM
Please plan on staying after worship next Sunday, March 13, for the first segment of our series on end-of-life issues, called “Faithfully Facing Dying.” We will have a presenter from Hospice speaking on palliative care. The Inreach Board will be providing light refreshments for the series, which will be held in the Upper Room.
