Music @ ACC

Amherst Community Church has a long tradition of very fine music, which is a vital part of our congregation and each Sunday’s worship service!

We are blessed to have a church full of talented singers and musicians who share their gifts with us in various ways each week throughout the year! Together, the musicians of ACC strive to enhance worship with beautiful and meaningful selections that share their love of God and inspire others.

Handbell Choir

We have a gorgeous set of three-octave bells that are being played again in worship for the first time in years. The Bell Choir plans to play during worship once per month.

Rehearsals are held Thursdays from 6:15 - 7:15 pm. We are currently looking for new ringers! No previous experience with bells is required.

Our choirs are skillfully directed by Diane Poe Schroeder. Diane is a well-seasoned church musician who has also taught piano lessons in Amherst for many years and is a retired NYS certified music teacher. She has been the Music Director at ACC for almost 20 years and plays piano and pipe organ during worship. Diane enjoys writing songs, especially new choral responses and peace songs, and you will often hear her beautiful, original pieces during our worship services!
