Justice Work
As a devout Jew, Jesus would have grown up knowing the words of the prophet Micah who said: what is required of God's followers is to do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God (Micah 6:8). When he began his own ministry as a teacher (rabbi), Jesus said he was sent by God to proclaim justice to the nations (Matthew 12:18).
Justice is at the heart of the Gospel (or Good News) of Jesus, and at ACC we believe justice issues continue to be core concerns of ours as Christians. One of the ways we can respond to the call to do justly is to understand where justice is lacking or absent in our communities and world, to educate ourselves about the injustices, and to work for change. Each of us is, and will be, at a different place in this journey, and we seek to encourage and support each other as we work for justice for all of God's people and Creation.
Use the menu to find resources to help you on the journey to living more justly and being an advocate and ally for those who are oppressed, marginalized, and treated unfairly in our day, as Jesus was in his.

Unfortunately, some churches use the Bible to condemn LGBTQIA+ individuals. We do not.
