Sunday Morning FAQs

WHEN ARE SERVICES HELD?

In addition to our weekly worship services at 10:00 AM on Sundays, additional services are offered on religious holidays, as noted on our calendar. You may also call the church office to find out special service times.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?

You should expect to be greeted and welcomed! You can also expect to find thoughtful sermons, prayer, and vibrant music during services that typically last about an hour. Communion is celebrated the first Sunday of each month and all are welcome to partake. Everyone is also invited to stay for refreshments in our Community Room immediately following the service.

HOW SHOULD I DRESS?

Come as you are! There is no need to dress up, although you are welcome to. You will see people in everything from suits and dresses to jeans and t-shirts (or Bills jerseys on game days). Whatever makes you comfortable is just fine with us.

While masks are no longer required in our building, some people feel more comfortable wearing them, and that is ok!

HOW ABOUT KIDS?

We welcome all children at ACC!

WHERE DO SERVICES TAKE PLACE & HOW DO I GET TO THE SANCTUARY?

Amherst Community Church is located at 77 Washington Highway in the Snyder community of Amherst, New York, right off Main Street near Amherst Central High School. We have a convenient parking lot located behind our building, which can be reached from either Washington Highway or Westmorland Road. Once you're in the building, take the stairs or the elevator to the second floor where the sanctuary is located. Our friendly greeters and ushers will help you find your way!

If you're walking from the neighborhood, or you prefer to park on Washington Highway, simply take the steps up to the front door of the church. If it is cold out, the door may look closed, but it will be unlocked by about 9:30 and we will be just inside there to welcome you!

The nearest NFTA bus stops to ACC are Main St & Amherst Central HS or Main St & Daemen College via the #47 Wehrle or #48 Williamsville busses. Please consult the Metro NFTA trip planner to determine how best to get here via bus.

WHO CAN TAKE COMMUNION?

At ACC, Christ's table is open to all who desire to be served. You do not have to be a member of this church (or any church) to receive the elements. Parents/guardians can decide when they feel their children are ready to participate.  We do not impose an age limit or other requirements.
